Position Overview

The Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) will provide support in the delivery of speech and language services to students with communication disorders. Under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), the SLPA will help implement therapy plans, assist with documentation, and collaborate with educators and families to promote students' communication development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings under the direction of the supervising SLP.

  • Implement therapy plans based on IEP goals through direct and indirect services.

  • Support the generalization of communication skills in educational settings.

  • Prepare therapy materials and assist with data collection and progress monitoring.

  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate communication strategies in the classroom.

  • Participate in IEP team activities as directed by the supervising SLP.

  • Adhere to all confidentiality, professional, and ethical standards.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field.

  • Licensure: Active Texas license as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

  • Experience: Completion of at least 50 hours of fieldwork/clinical practicum.

  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; knowledge of speech and language development and therapy techniques.

Compensation:
38-45 dollars per hour based on experience and uncapped bonus potential
