Spotter Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Social Worker to join our team. The School Social Worker will be responsible for fostering a supportive school environment by addressing the social, emotional, and academic needs of students. This role is instrumental in promoting students' well-being and success through direct intervention and collaborative efforts with teachers, parents, and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to support students facing social, emotional, or academic challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement strategies that support student success.
- Assess students' needs through interviews, observations, and assessments to develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to students in acute distress.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities or additional needs.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions for staff and parents on social-emotional learning and mental health awareness.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and services provided.
- Advocate for students’ needs within the school and the broader community.
- Stay informed about community resources and connect families to appropriate services.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement.
- Demonstrated understanding of child development, mental health issues, and intervention strategies.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school community.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
